RAVPower Luster 6000mAh External Battery – Review and Giveaway

There are a lot of unexpected things that can happen to us during the day but loss of battery power in your mobile or tablet when we are out must me one close to the top of the annoying list. Most of us rely on our mobile devices and it is hard to get around sometimes when they are out of juice.

Luckily for me someone invented an external charger, which is small, portable and of course doesn’t require you to be plugged into a socket, PC, laptop or any other bulky device. And to top it up I was sent a RAVPower Luster 6000mAh External Battery to review and I totally love it!

You are getting all you need to in one small, neat packaging:

  • External battery
  • Cable
  • Carry pouch
  • Instruction manual

All you have to do is to connect your mobile device into the external battery and let the charging begin.

So what are my thoughts about RAVPower Luster 6000mAh external battery?

Great looking little thing – it is fairly small and very well made. It feels robust without being bulky.

It is not feather light, but with a weight of 120g I can’t really call it heavy, can I?

It has a large battery capacity, which will allow me to recharge my smartphone 3 times 🙂

It represents great value for money as its current on an offer price of only £11.99 with free delivery. You must admit that this is a great price.

The LED light is a nice addition, they allow you to check the battery power level but the funkiest extra feature is a flashlight. Press the power on button twice and the light comes on, press twice again and it is gone. It is surprising how much light this tiny flashlight actually gives – very impressive… and according to the manual you can get up to 250 hours of light from one charge.

Oh, and there is a pouch as well, a great addition that I can see being very useful. The pouch is the perfect size to hold both the battery and the cable. It is soft and it looks smart. The only thing I don’t like about it is the fabric. Why? The pouch is extremely slippery. Unless you have very firm vice like grip on it, it will not stay in your hand.

And one more thing, it comes in a choice of four colours – black, gold, blue and pink – so everyone can pick something they like.

Review – ChargeKey and ChargeCard from Nomad

ChargeKey ChargeCard from Nomad

With technology changing so fast we are all constantly needing more power! Our Smartphone’s can do more and more with every model but all of this has one drawback, they seem to run out of charge much quicker. Back in the day, remember when the battery of your phone lasted for a week or more if you used just a standard phone and not a Smartphone. Today we need almost constant access to some source of power in order to stay connected.

I don’t know about you but I forget things. I make lists in my head of all the essentials before leaving the house only to discover later on that:

my list wasn’t complete

or it was complete but I still managed to forget something…

Doh!

Are you like me or are you Mr/Mrs. Perfect Memory?

Anyways… I forget things, did I already mention that? so when Nomad offered to send me a ChargeKey and a ChargeCard for a review I was very happy. Due to their shape I can just put them on my keychain or into my wallet and forget about them until they are needed 🙂

So as per their names there are two products: a ChargeKey and a ChargeCard.

ChargeKey from Nomad

ChargeKey is a portable charge cable in the shape of a house-key. It’s designed to fit onto your keychain just like any house-key, so you’ll always have a phone cable on you. You can use the ChargeKey to charge/sync your Smartphone from any USB port.

Currently you can buy it with Micro USB end or with a lightening cable end to fit an iPad or an iPhone, so all the basics are covered.

ChargeCard from Nomad

ChargeCard is your charge cable, shaped like a credit card. It’s designed to fit into your wallet so you’ll always have a USB cable on you. Use the ChargeCard to charge / sync your smartphone from any USB port.

The ChargeCard same as the ChargeKey is available with Micro USB end or with a lightening cable end to fit an iPad or an iPhone.

ChargeKey & ChargeCard from Nomad

Both products came as a flat package, similar in size to your standard sized envelope. I actually like the packaging, it is simple and there is no unnecessary over packaging.

Inside your cardboard “envelope” you have your ChargeKey or a ChargeCard and some basic information about the product as well as the company which makes them.

Nomad ChargeKey & ChargeCard

Both products are 2.5mm thick and are made from durable, flexible plastic; they contain flexi link to allow you a 360 degree plug movement and they both feature a standard USB end.

They offer all what you would expect from them. They are tiny and fit nicely either on your key chain or inside your wallet, they are bendable so you can plug it in any way you have a need for and they work like any charger for your phone, as long as you have a power source on the other end of it of course.

I like the idea of this “charger” cables. I would prefer if they would charge my phone without the need for finding a portable charger, laptop or a PC, but hey… we can’t have it all… but maybe… one day soon…

Both ChargeKey and ChargeCard are available from Amazon and priced around £20 depending on the type.

What do you think about these products?

Do they sound like something useful for you?

* I received one ChargeKey and one ChargeCard for free for review purpose. All opinions about the products are honest and my own.
